"Rocco" with his swollen head when he arrived and now recuperting at my home with his new pals, Dante and Baci. "Rocco's modern life" after one month of love and good food! Please Help Us Help Them! Rocco was found living in the streets of Roosevelt.  He was badly neglected to the point of abuse.  His breed was almost unrecognizable.  When I first saw his face I was shocked that someone could do this or let this happen.  Rocco is a beautiful Neapolitan Mastiff.  He is recuperating from his horrible past in the comfort of my home with my other 2 Mastiffs.  As you can see he is feeling much better.  We will keep you posted on Rocco's progress.  Won't you please help us continue our mission of helping those who cannot help themselves.  Your donations are vital to our work.  Thank you , Dori Scofield Amount: $

At our Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets. We work diligently to educate the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.

We are a non-profit, no-kill shelter 501c(3) organization located in the heart of Long Island, New York founded in 1994 by Dori Scofield. We are supported solely by public donations and every dollar makes a difference. Your support can save the life of a cat or dog. It is our intention to provide you with the most current and the latest information on our events and fundraisers. We hope you will visit us often and please donate to help us continue our mission of saving the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused pets. Tree of Life Program Make a donation in memory of a special person or pet. For a donation of $5, Save-A-Pet will mail a personalized sympathy card. With a donation of $100, the loved one's name will also be engraved on a gold leaf on the Tree of Life, located in the lobby of Save-A-Pet.

Sponsor A Pet

For just $30.00 per month, you can sponsor a cat or dog at our animal shelter until he/she is adopted. 100% of donations go directly to the animals.

It will not only help defray the cost of the dog or cat's routine and medical care, but also will allow us to provide them with special toys, treats and bones.

You can pick a pet from our adoption center to sponsor or have us pick one for you. You will receive an email about your pet once a month and when we find your pet a good home.
