Licorice has a very sad story. She was adopted as a puppy and was given all the love she deserved. As she grew into an adult her family split up and poor Licorice was left to live in the home all alone. Her Mom came several times a day to care for her. After several years she realized Licorice deserved better. Licorice is now at our shelter hoping that her next home will be forever. This is what a volunteer dog walker had to say about Licorice: What a mellow and delightful girl Licorice is, a 6 year-old Lab/Pit mix beauty with a black coat and a salt & pepper snout. As excited as you could tell she was to be outside, Licorice was calm and simply pleased to have people petting her. She sat very politely, her floppy ears acting like bookends to her thoughtfully wrinkly forehead. Even though it was inside an outdoor run, sitting with Licorice was like being on a peaceful park bench, as you can imagine she'd be delighted to join you for. Licorice knows her name, because she was surrendered to the shelter after six years living in a home, and she longs to have one to call her own again. Housetrained and a polite leash-walker, Licorice is the perfect low-key lovebug, and would be delighted to make your acquaintance.
