Save-A-Pet Raises $1,700 at Its Fourth Annual “St. Pitty’s Day” Party for the Shelter’s Homeless Pit Bulls

Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. held its Fourth Annual “St. Pitty’s Day” Party on March 16 to raise awareness and funds for the shelter’s many pit bulls. Those in attendance had the opportunity to meet and greet the companion animals that were up for adoption at Save-A-Pet. A total of six dogs were adopted at the party, with three being featured pit bulls.

“We have so many pit bulls here at Save-A-Pet,” said Dori Scofield, Founder/President, Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. “Each year, our ‘St. Pitty’s Day’ Party allows guests to interact with our pit bulls that have lovable personalities. We hope to change many individuals’ views on this breed, which is woefully misunderstood, while raising money for their care.”

Guests enjoyed an authentic Irish buffet of corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread, delicious desserts, and Irish beverages, which were all prepared by Save-A-Pet’s staff and volunteers. More than $1,700 was raised for the shelter and its pit bulls.

Petey, Gunnar, and Rose were the three pit bulls that were adopted at the event. “The best part about an event like this is that, after people meet these dogs and see how terrific they are, we get a lot of applications for their adoptions,” Ms. Scofield said.
