Save-A-Pet Provides Pet Owners with Information
in Preparation for the Start of Hurricane Season
Long Island is bracing itself for Hurricane Irene, which the National Hurricane Center predicts will hit landfall by Sunday afternoon. One of the most vulnerable populations is pets, who are often forgotten in the chaos of natural disasters. In order to ensure the well being of your pets, it is necessary for you to formulate a plan before disaster strikes.
To assist local residents, Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. has developed an Emergency Preparedness Evacuation Brochure. The brochure is free and emphasizes planning for the often overlooked members of your family: your pets.
