Meet Daisy

Frankie, one of the puppies foundShe can be Crazy or she can be Lazy but she is always smart little Daisy! She has mastered the lock on her kennel and even the lock to exit the shelter! But she always came back. She is the smartest dog you will ever meet, but sad just the same as she has spent almost 2 years (she is only 3 years old) in a municipal shelter. She loves to play and would make the most loyal companion you could ever have. She just needs a chance to prove herself. She promises not to escape from a loving home! Please make her Christmas dream come true. She is overlooked time and time again. There is no room for her at Save-A-Pet but we are trying very hard to help her dreams come true. Please contact us to learn more about this wonderful canine genius!

CupidPlease Help Cupid!

Cupid is a two-year-old long-haired Dachshund. She has a back injury—a slipped disc. Cupid will need surgery immediately if she is ever to walk
again. The surgery will cost at least $4,000. Please help her by donating funds towards her surgery. Cupid is a wonderful loving girl, please, please help her! All the funds to be collected will go to Cupid's surgery.

At our Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets. We work diligently to educate the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.

If you are looking to adopt a pet, please view the dogs and cats in our Long Island adoption shelter and then fill out our online adoption application.

We are a non-profit, no-kill shelter 501c(3) organization located in the heart of Long Island, New York founded in 1994 by Dori Scofield. We are supported solely by public donations and every dollar makes a difference. Your support can save the life of a cat or dog. It is our intention to provide you with the most current and the latest information on our events and fundraisers. We hope you will visit us often and please donate to help us continue our mission of saving the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused pets. We are seeking funds to continue saving the lives of animals on Long Island and beyond. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
