Join Save-A-Pet this Valentine’s Day for the Annual “Evening for the Love of Animals” Fur Ball 2013

A Fabulous Night for Couples and Friends to Spend Time Together While Supporting A Worthwhile Cause

In honor of pets and animals in need, Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center Inc. is holding its 12th Annual “Evening for the Love of Animals” Fur Ball 2013 this Valentine’s Day. The event will take place on Thursday, February 14, from 7-11 p.m. at the beautiful Flowerfield Celebrations Catering at 199 Mills Pond Road in St. James.

The dinner dance — which raises money for the organization and its efforts — had to be rescheduled from last fall due to Super Storm Sandy. Its aim is to bring people together who share a common bond: a love for animals. The money raised will be used to continue Save-A-Pet’s commitment to programs such as saving lives of homeless animals, pet adoption, spaying and neutering, feral cat TNR (trap, neuter and return), humane education and public awareness.

The evening will include dancing, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, coffee, raffles and much more. Live music will be performed by keyboardist/signer Bill Lopez, with a cocktail hour performance by pianist Rich Goldberg. Tickets are $100 per person, and 40% of each ticket price is tax-deductible. Dress attire is smart casual.

What makes the event special is that the event falls on the most romantic night of the year — Valentine’s Day — making it an ideal for those to spend time with their significant other, while supporting Save-A-Pet’s mission to care for its orphaned shelter animals. What’s more, the cost of a pair of tickets to the event is also an economical way for couples to spend Valentine’s Day together.

“My husband [Bob] and I are going to spend Valentine’s Day together at the Fur Ball,” said Maddie DiSomma of Stony Brook. “We are very ardent supporters of Save-A-Pet and the programs they provide. In addition, an evening at the Fur Ball provides us with valet parking, no crowds, delicious food and great music, and no lines or set seating times! We also know that the money we spend at the Fur Ball will go to a good cause.”

Those who are unable to attend can make a financial contribution to one of Save-A-Pet’s programs. All donations are greatly appreciated.

“I am thrilled the time has finally come for our 12th annual Fur Ball,” stated Dori Scofield, Founder/President, Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. “What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than sharing the love of animals with those you care about most?”
