October is "Pit Bull Awareness Month"

In honor of this terrific, but woefully misunderstood breed, we'd like to introduce you to Lady Rebecca, a lovely pit bull mix that previously suffered from lymphoma. She was transferred from the Brookhaven Animal Shelter to Save-A-Pet, where we were able to treat her successfully through surgery and holistic medication. She's now in remission…but Becca is still waiting for a home.

A favorite of Save-A-Pet's volunteers, Becca is between four and five years old and roughly 75 pounds. She is one of the absolute sweetest dogs we have at the shelter, and just wants a place to call home and someone to love her. While she needs to be an only pet in a quiet home, she would make a wonderful companion for a family with grown children or a single person looking for the perfect mate!

In honor of Pit Bull Awareness Month, please consider adopting Lady Rebecca or donating towards her care. She's been through so much already — but love is the best medicine!
