Bikers and Animal Lovers Join Save-A-Pet at the Seventh Annual Ruff Riders Rally

A group of motorcyclists and animal lovers took part in Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center's Seventh Annual Ruff Riders Rally on July 22. The tour began at Petco in Rocky Point as the bikers traveled through Wading River and Riverhead and ended at Hooters in Islandia.

After the rally, bikers were treated to lunch at Hooters and live music by Big Daddy and the Bulldogs. There were also raffles, information on the benefits of animal adoption over purchasing one at a retail pet store, an auction and Save-A-Pet merchandise on sale, with proceeds benefiting the organization and the care of rescued animals.

The ride was coordinated by Bob Schoepfer, who has been its coordinator for the past seven years. The event was sponsored by Intervet, Inc. and Petco.
